1. Lose yourself in Central Park

The most iconic city park of any major population hub, Central Park boasts 38 million visitors a year. The park covers nearly 4 km of area and is a great place to spend time between castings or on a day off. Take a walk from any of its entry points and you may stumble upon the Central Park Zoo, the Conservancy or the Ramble Lake that catches reflections of New York’s tallest skyscrapers. There is even outdoor bouldering at Rat Rock, Central Park’s most well visited rock climbing spot. Best of all, if you’re there during the summer, check out Summerstage, its free concert series.

2. Free Fridays at the MoMA and Pay What you Want Met

Don’t want to spend your pocket money on tourism but still want to get the experience? NYC’s most iconic museums both offer great deals. MoMA has free entry on Fridays from 4-8 PM. Be warned! This is a first come first serve deal and people begin lining up 45 minutes before doors open. Even so, the wait is worth it! The Metropolitan Museum of Art, operates on a pay what you can basis, so you can visit on whatever budget works for you. The Met also hosts fashion’s biggest yearly event, the Met Gala, so even if you don’t get an invite to the VIP event, you’ll still be able to see all the art the stars see when you visit.

3. Pictures on the High Line

The High Line is NYC’s elevated garden! Stretching 1.45 miles, it weaves from Hudson Yards at 34th st, all the way to the Whitney Museum in the trendy meatpacking district where a lot of castings and jobs take place. Art installations, viewing decks and a whole host of flora and fauna make this city strolling unique and memorable. Plus, Chelsea Market sits beneath it at 9th Avenue and 16th St, where you can stop off and grab a bite a number of its delicious food stalls.

4. Discover Downtown through walking tours

Downtown is where it is at! The energy of downtown New York with its many boutique shops, concept restaurants and cute bookstore-cafes, make spending time there vibrant and memorable. Take its cultural experience to the next level by taking a free walking tour of Soho and the surrounding areas, and learn all about its fascinating history-everything from which famous artists lived on its blocks, to which TV shows were filmed on its streets, to what it was like to arrive there as an immigrant in the late 1800s.
